Windows 7 End of Life - January 2020

What Does "End of Life" Mean?

"End of life" is the date after which an application is no longer supported by the company that makes it. After Windows 7 "end of life," you can continue to use Windows 7, but at your own risk. New computer viruses and other malware are developed all the time and, without the security updates to fight them off, your data and your system are vulnerable.

So, while Windows 7 will continue to work after January 14 2020, you should start planning to upgrade to Windows 10, or an alternative operating system, as soon as possible.

Can I upgrade my existing PC to Windows 10?

Yes, you can upgrade compatible Windows 7 PCs as long as it meets the hardware requirements for Windows 10. Don’t want the stress of trying to make these changes yourself then give us a call and see how little it could cost to get this done for you.

However to take advantage of the latest hardware capabilities, we recommend moving to a new PC with Windows 10. Scared by the sheer number of options out there when trying to buy from the big stores? Talk to us and we can help pick out the best computer to suit your needs and budget.

Instead of using an old and unsupported operating system, upgrade to Microsoft’s most recent OS. Windows 10 was released in 2015. It supports apps that can be used across multiple devices, including PCs, tablets, and smartphones. It also supports touchscreen, keyboard, and mouse input methods. Windows 10 is faster than Windows 7 and provides a number of other useful benefits.

There are differences between the two Windows layouts but, as a Windows user, you'll see similarities which will help you get up to speed quickly. Should you need a helping hand to get to know the in’s and outs of Windows 10 we can provide training to get you running in no time.
